Today dental implants are becoming the preferred way to treat missing teeth. Here is everything you need to know about dental implants.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace the root(s) of a missing tooth. It is made of the metal titanium.
Titanium is a biologically tolerable material used in various fields of medicine. The dental implant integrates with the jawbone and creates a good foundation for tooth restoration. The success of dental implants varies between 96 and 98 % according to scientific research.
After placing the implants into the jawbone an artificial tooth called crown is screwed on top. The crowns can be made of different materials including zirconium, ceramic, different polymers, etc. In normal circumstances the crown is placed after a minimum of four months after the implant.
If you think that caring for the new implanted teeth is over, you are wrong! If you take good care of the implanted teeth they can last a lifetime. Some implants come with a lifetime structural guarantee by the producer. In Sofia Implant Centre we offer only such implants. On the other side the lack of adequate hygiene and having some bad habits can lead to inflammation and even losing the implant.
If you are already convinced in the advantages of implants in the treatment of missing teeth – do not hurry! There are important decisions to be made. For example which specific implant brand to choose. Is implant treatment right for you in the first place? And a bunch of other questions the answers of which you will find in the next posts and videos.
